1. Job Title: PEO – Continuous Assessment (CA) – 1 position Responsible to: Director – Examinations Responsible for: SEO – Continuous Assessment Salary Scale: EB 3L

Purpose of the Job:

To head the Division handling all activities relating to coordinating Continuous Assessment of learners at all the examination levels in order to make assessment holistic, more valid and reliable, hence improving the National quality and standards of education.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

§ Coordinating the production and or developing of the section work-plan, budget and procurement plan and producing quarterly performance reports § Developing curriculum based criterion referenced Tests for the CA programme in the schools at all levels. § Training subject panels in analysing Continuous Assessment with a view to setting criteria and areas of assessment. § Developing teachers’ guides on how to use Continuous Assessment and designing appropriate data forms (Scholastic and score cards) § Training teachers in the use of the CA materials. § Generating valid and reliable test items to all Schools in Uganda where Continuous Assessment is required. § Determining the modalities of incorporating CA scores into terminal assessments at all examination levels. § Supervising staff in the CA section, conducting staff performance appraisals and making appropriate recommendations. § Liaison with the relevant departments of the MoE & S and the other related agencies on matters of continuous assessment.

2. Job Title: PEO -Test Development (Primary) – 1 position Responsible to: Manager Examinations Development Responsible for: SEO – Test Deployment (Primary). Salary Scale: EB 3L

Purpose of the Job:

To head the Division handling all activities relating to coordinating the generation of Test Items for the Primary Leaving Examinations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

§ Coordinating the production of section work-plans, budget and procurement plan and producing quarterly performance reports § Coordinating and supervising the Test Development Section, by ensuring that all subjects to be examined at PLE are properly and adequately covered and questions set are within the approved syllabi § Making recommendations to recruit item writers and organize item writers’ workshops. § Organizing the moderation of Test Items and maintaining a viable question papers bank with utmost confidentiality. § Planning and coordinating Awards committee meetings. § Participating in the curriculum review with the Curriculum Development Centre. § Coordinating and supervising the production of Report on candidate’s work. § Reviewing examination questions and candidate’s performance evaluation reports for management decisions. § Appraising the performance of test development staff and recommending appropriate actions.

§ Identifying and training PLE item writers in close collaboration with the Senior Examinations Officer. § Ensuring reliability and validity of the items set. § Conducting moderation meetings § Compiling the moderated test items into draft question papers. § Supervising the type setting of the PLE draft question papers. § Proof reading the typed PLE question papers. § Analyzing, compiling and typesetting reports on work of candidates at PLE.

To carry out field implementation of activities relating to examinations modifications as per the access arrangements required and assisting in monitoring the examinations and assessment needs affecting candidates with special educational needs.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

To carry out field implementation of activities relating to examinations modifications as per the access arrangements required and assisting in monitoring the examinations and assessment needs affecting candidates with special educational needs with particular reference to deaf candidates.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

§ Assisting in the assessment and coordination procedures for candidates with Special Educational Needs (SENs) at all levels (PLE, UCE and UACE) particularly the Deaf. § Working together with the Test Development Teams in modifying test items for learners with SENs particularly for the Deaf. § Making decisions in the modifications of examinations for particularly the Deaf candidates § Participating in the Awards Committee meetings as may be required to guide on matters of deaf candidates § Participating in the development and production of the UNEB-SNE assessment and examinations policy with particular reference to the deaf.

To manage and maintain the registry where all offi cial manual and electronic records of the Board are kept in an accessible form to end users.

Job Title: SECURITY SUPERVISOR (1 POST)

Responsible to: Senior Administrative Offi cer Responsible for: Security Guards Salary Scale: EB 6
Purpose of the Job: To head the Security unit as supervisor in charge of all the deployment of security guards.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 Making deployment schedules of the security guards to all the key security points, appraises their performance and recommends accordingly  Patrolling all Board premises, supervising the guards and looking out for any unusual or suspicious activity.

(ii) Work Experience:  Proven work experience as a Security personnel in a supervisory or similar position in a reputable organization or similar position for at least 3 years.  Service in Uganda Police or Prisons service at the rank of at least Inspector will be an added advantage.
(iii) Skills/Competencies:  Knowledge of public safety and security protocols.  Surveillance skills and orientation to detail.  Investigative skills  Time Management  Integrity and professionalism  Leadership and public management skills
(iv) Age limit: Candidates below 40 years old shall not be eligible.
