SCHOOL ENTERPRISE CHALLENGE MASTER TRAINERS
Teach A Man To Fish is seeking experienced Master Trainers to play a lead role in delivering School Enterprise Challenge trainings in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. Teach A Man To Fish is a small international development charity with a big impact, providing entrepreneurship education to young people across the developing world.
Reporting to the SEC EA Programme Manager, Master Trainers will play a central role in pro-actively planning and managing delivery of the School Enterprise Challenge trainings to schools and Operational Partners schools across Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
Teach A Man To Fish is looking for candidates with very strong training and facilitation skills, with a proven track record of effective delivery entrepreneurship trainings in schools or communities (This will be tested at the interview). Master Trainers will be a detail-oriented, quality-driven individual with excellent experiential learning skills. They shall be able to anticipate, plan effectively deliver trainings for schools and Operational Partners with little or no supervision. The ideal candidates will be experienced trainers and able to demonstrate previous significant success in a similar role. Experience in experiential education/learning would also be an added advantage.
• Package: UGX 180,000/= per day of training* plus direct costs of travel, subsistence and accommodation. • Contract: 6 month consultancy contract for delivery of agreed number of trainings

Teach A Man To Fish’s mission is to address global youth unemployment and poverty by providing practical, relevant education to young people in developing countries. We support schools to set up school businesses which provide hands-on training and experience for pupils. In 2018, the East Africa School Enterprise challenge team worked in partnership with 16 partner NGOs to deliver the programme to 500+schools, impacting over 40,000 young people in Uganda and Kenya.
Job Title: SEC Master Trainer
Line Manager: SEC EA Programme Manager
i. Deliver ‘step 1’ and ‘step 2’ School Enterprise Challenge trainings to assigned teacher/operational partner staff clusters in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. ii. Deliver ‘step 1’ and ‘step 2’ School Enterprise Challenge trainings to TAMTF field officers/staff prior the teacher training. iii. Organise all personal logistics (e.g. transport, accommodation) in line with approved budget to ensure on-time delivery of training iv. Prepare report on the training held with supporting evidence like photos, attendance lists etc. as required. v. Coordinate collection of timely feedback from trainees and ensure this is duly submitted to the M&E Officer. vi. Advise on any changes or amendments that could be made to training materials.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential: • At least a Bachelors in Education, Development, Adult Education, Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, or related field Desirable: • Training in experiential education. • Business experience or qualification. • Good facilitation skills. • Open to learning and receiving feedback. • Good interpersonal skills. • High level of flexibility.
Experience Essential: • At least 2 years’ experience in delivering entrepreneurship training in schools or communities. • Experience teaching or training – transmitting knowledge in fun and creative way • Teacher training experience • Experience of Kenya and Tanzania working context, particularly in education
Skills and knowledge Essential: • Results-driven and able to meet ambitious targets • Very high level of attention to detail
• Strong facilitation/training skills • Excellent written and spoken English language skills • Strong sense of initiative and an entrepreneurial approach to working • A passion for international development, enterprise & education • Excellent and engaging communicator • Ability to influence – facilitation of people changing ways they do things. • Strong organizational skills, a proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Additional Requirements • Current passport and yellow fever certificate • Willingness to travel regularly to up-country locations in Uganda and/or Kenya and Tanzania.
