diseases through education, jobs, and medical relief.
Our programs include school and village clinics, the Hope center and clinic, a shoe
workshop, education program and income generating activities, among others.
Overall responsibility of the position
The successful candidate will be responsible for overall smooth running of programs.
He/she will work in collaboration with other departments to ensure that all activities are
done in compliance with Sole Hope’s Vision, Mission, Policies, Values and the Laws of
The Program Team Leader is a senior management position reporting to the Country
Director and will be based at our office in Buwenda-Jinja.
Roles and responsibilities
Lead the development of, and monitor the implementation of various program
activities and provide updates to the Country Director (CD), highlighting any
Visit project implementation sites regularly, assess the progress of
implementation and report on progress to the CD as required.
Provide daily coordination with various sectors and project staff.
Follow procurement, logistical, financial and other administrative processes to
support an efficient and effective implementation of program activities.
Gather and compile information from sectors and prepare overall performance
progress reports detailing achievements against plans and variances on a regular
basis; and as needed based on specific requests.
Ensure effective financial spending and conduct monthly budget reviews across
programs with support of the finance team.
Support monitoring or evaluation visits by donors with support from concerned

Provide leadership and coordination in maintaining positive, constructive and
supportive communication within the staff teams and with Sole Hope’s

Sole Hope seeks an individual with:
Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English, Lusoga and
Luganda. Knowledge of any other Eastern Uganda language is an added advantage.
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in the field of Social Work and Social
Administration in a recognized institution, additional training in project
management, and related qualifications in other fields of study in humanities.
The work requires the officer to be in position to work well as a team leader/team
player offering technical support and guidance and able to manage an effective
team that is result oriented and able to deliver services in a timely manner.
Ability to multitask and be able to deliver timely results as planned.
Understands contemporary issues facing vulnerable and marginalized people.
As an interdisciplinary role, this requires a strong personal commitment to the
values, principles and organisation strategy of Sole Hope.
Ability to facilitate training for staff/partners in key aspects like Child safeguarding,
team building, gender mainstreaming among others.
Ability to work individually/independently, as well as part of a wider team.
Computer literate – competent in the use of Word, Excel and Power-point and other
IT software including website, facebook, twitter, blogs etc.
