CHILD AND FAMILY FOUNDATION UGANDA (CFU) INVITES APPLICATIONS FROM SUITABLY QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS TO APPLY FOR THE FOLLOWING RESEARCH POSITIONS INTHE MAGNUS STUDY
About the Study
The MAGNUS study is a research partnership between CFU, Makerere University, and the University of Copenhagen. It is a community based randomized controlled trial (RCT) with a primary aim to examine the role of milk protein and whey permeate on the growth and development of stunted children aged 1 to 5 years. The study will take place in the Jinja district of Eastern Uganda. The study period is estimated to be between 6 months and 1 year and is planned to start in January 2020.
About CFU: Is a Christian-based not-for-profit Non-Government Organization with headquarters at Mpererwe Ttula in Kampala. However, it operates countrywide with focus on Kamuli, Kayunga, Jinja, Iganga, Mayuge, Namutumba, Luuka, Kaliro, and Kampala to improve access, use and availability to healthcare, nutrition and food security, relevant education and livelihoods to children, youth, women and people with disability in rural and urban poor populations.

 Experience in sample collection, preparation, processing, and

Qualification: Diploma in Nursing
 Registered with Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council
(UNMC)
 Confident in phlebotomy/taking off blood in children
 Able to conduct interviews with caregivers in Lusoga
 At least one-year experience in clinical practice working with
children

Laboratory assistants

Qualification: Certificate in medical laboratory technology
 Ability to ride a motorbike and has a valid riding permit
 Experience in taking off blood samples in children and safe
transportation of laboratory samples
 Competent in conducting rapid tests (MRDT, Hb hemocue, HIV
