Plans, budgets, designs and oversees implementation of breeding and reproduction programs and
projects, Participates in the update and maintenance of the National Gene Bank/Depository,
Coordinates the development of guidelines and implementation of field oriented breeding
extension services for field workers, Breeder Societies/ Associations and indigenous farmers,
Evaluates all imported germplasm and live animals, Promotes Open Nucleus Breeding

Specific Responsibilities
Receives, keeps retrieves and issues stores in accordance with the established procedures,
Receives and compiles requisition orders, Verifies invoices against goods received notes, Posts
and maintains stores records, Undertakes stock-taking and stock-inspection, Records invoices
and supplies, Checks and verifies invoices and issues notes, Ensures proper storage of stock,
Supervises vehicle loading and offloading, Takes stock of stores, Records damaged, obsolete and
expired items, Maintains stores records, Issues stock in accordance with the established
procedures, Controls and maintains inventory levels, Follows up on orders to ensure that
materials are delivered on promised dates and Manages the security of the stores
Basic Requirements
a) Should have a minimum qualification of a Diploma in Stores/Supplies Management or
Procurement or Equivalent Qualification from a recognized Institution
b) Should have knowledge of computer applications or programs related stores management
c) Working experience of at least Three (3) years at the level of Stores Assistant.

Overall Job Purpose To input and manage field livestock recordings

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Compiles records of breeding activities from field stations, Captures field records that feeds to
the Centre database, carries out A.I activities and ssensitizes farmers and supports them to
correctly record breeding activity, Prepares routine reports as requested in compliance with the
information and reporting policy of the Centre, Undertakes any other official duties as may be
assigned by the immediate Supervisor.
a) Should have a Uganda Certificate of Education
b) Certificate in Animal Production and Management or Certificate in Artificial Insemination
from a recognized organization/institution is a Prerequisite
c) Working experience of at least One (1) year gained from a reputable organization/institution
is a prerequisite.

Installation and maintenance of sanitary appliances such as toilets, wash hand basins and
urinals, Repairing of basic installations in water troughs and underground water tanks,
Producing estimates for plumbing /Mechanical installations in buildings, Laying and
unblocking the drainage system and tapping of water, Installation of water catchment systems
in roofs, Inspection of drainage systems for septic tanks, manholes and gulley traps in areas
assigned and Any other related duty assigned
Basic Requirements
d) Must have a Diploma in Plumbing from a recognized institution.
e) Should have a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with credits in English Language and
Mathematics.
f) Ability to use different types of plumbing tools and equipments installation of sanitary
appliances such as flushing toilets, hand wash basins, tapping of water, etc
g) Work experience of at least One (1) year in a busy environment.

Drives the vehicle as may be required, Transports goods or materials as instructed from time to
time, Ensures safety of the vehicle, Keeps the vehicle clean and tidy, Reports to the responsible
officer when servicing of the vehicle is due, Carries out minor repairs on the vehicle, Keeps and
ensures the safety of all the vehicle documents, spare tyre and tool box and Does any other work
assigned by the supervisor.
Basic Requirements
a) Should have a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with a credit in English Language.
b) Should have a valid driving permit classes “C’’ and “E’’.
c) Should have passed the Chief Mechanical Engineers’ Driving Test.
d) Should have minimum driving experience of at least Three (3) years in a busy environment.
